What Causes Severe Jaw And Ear Pain Following Cold?

2 weeks back I was fighting a chest cold, after a week of trying to get over it pain started in my jaw and ear... I have a broken tooth in the same area. I went to the doctor who gave me a 10 day supply of ERY-333MG x 3 each day...it helped the check cold, but now the pain in my jaw & ear has mades its way to the tooth that was broken & is beyond painkillers... this is a case of the chicken or the egg... not sure, all I know is I am 3 days off the ERY & scared I may have an infection that is causing the pain, but could it just be extreme nerve pain? What s more likely? I ve taken Advil & Norco and nothing is calming the pain. The tooth does hurt now as well, but it was the jaw & ear first. I have no swelling, redness, obvious signs of infection... clove oil, ice packs, help a tiny bit but only 1/4 of the time it s being used. I ve upped the Norco to 2, and it s still extremely severe. I would be at the hospital but I have no insurance. If it seems more like nerve pain fine, my concern is that I am overlooking something more serious. Any opinion would be great, though what is more likely the cause would be a comfort either way... TY in advance
