What Causes Severe Lower Back Pain Along With Inflammation?

Hi Dr. Rynne, My son has severe lower back pain. MRI shows swelling near lower spine area. So, he is thinking back surgery. I read that sometimes a kidney will get crystals sharp like broken glass, and causes severe back pain and inflammation, nano bacteria. Have you ever heard of this?
