What Causes Severe Pain And Stiffnes In Thumbs, Hips, Knees And Ankles?

I am a 53 year old female and have join pain that is becoming a problem to the point its affecting my overall well being. My thumbs, hips, knees, and ankles all ached (dull). I am so stiff in the morning I can barely walk. I am getting to the point I can t grip anything--one example I can t pick up a coin from a counter top. So is it arthritis? What test should I ask my physician for? I take lovastatin 40 mg (2 years)and valsartan/hct 80 mg/12.5 mg daily (3 years). I m tired of hurting.
