What Causes Severe Pain In Foot On Using New Orthotics?

I fell over a year ago then 2 more times first I went to a podiatrist and he wraped my foot and sent me for an MRI the radiologist just said inflammation and neuroma(I wore orthotics for that for 20 years and never had a problem. I then went to a foot and ankle surgeon and he said the radiologist misread the mri and that I have a stress fracture, and a torn tendon. I was put into a cast and then a boot, followed by 2 cortisone shots(which helped a little) this week I received new orthotics the first day they helped the second day my foot was very sore and today I could not walk on the bad foot and hurt worse then when I first broke it. I had ice on it all day and I am still in pain without shoes in a reclining position. I am going for another mri Monday at a place specifically required by this dr. to see if he may have missed something from the first mri.
I also had 6 weeks of therapy. I have an appointment with the dr. to get the mri results. if he doesn't see anything wrong he doesn't know what to do I am only 62 and I do have diabetes 2. any thoughts??
