What Causes Severe Pain In Joints Along With Depression?

My husband has had a severely painful and progressive illness for the last 4 years. Prior to that we were close to divorce. Since then I have become his caregiver. He has been extremely withdrawn and depressed for several days now and I am afraid he will take an overdose of the many pain killers he takes. I know that he feels that I don t love him and he is correct that I am not In love with him but care tremendously about his life and pain and hope the best for him. I don t know what to do.
