What Causes Severe Pain In Left Upper Back Upon Coughing?

I have come down with a cough - my whole family has it currently, however I went to bed last night with a sharp pain in my upper left back near the side of my shoulder blade towards the middle of my upper back. I have severe pain when I move, cough or take a deep breath. What could this be?
