What Causes Severe Pain In Lower Back Below The Ribs?

After being hit by a car a few days ago most of pain has subsidized except a small area lower back above hips, below ribs and to the right of my spine if any pressure it applied at all it is agonising, a friend is worried it might be my kidney, any thoughts? Age 19 10.5st
