What Causes Severe Pain In Muscles Along With Headaches In A Diabetic?

My husband is 51 years old! He has untreated diabetes! His legs and hips hurt him! He gets mad headaches and he smokes cigs! He is loosing weight and he has been taking naps! He travels for a living and I can tell he s getting worse! He say doctors are quacks! He is a quack! His mother died from diabetes! His legs look like his muscles are waisting away and now his bones are aching! He will not go to. It s sad my kids are worried everyone is worried! What should I do? Is he at the late stages of diabetes?
