What Causes Severe Pain In Ribs?

Hi Dr. Rynne, For the last two days I have had a really bad pain in the area where my ribs meet, like the sternum area. It feels like someone has punched me in the stomach. When I press down it hurts worse, and there is know change when I let go after pushing down.
