What Causes Severe Pain In Sacroiliac Joint Despite Taking Injection?

I had a car accident and have a problem with sacroiliac joint. Went in yo have an injection yesterday just realised I had a trigger point injection rather than a sacroiliac joint injection. Movement seems a little better but pain worse. Is this normal? I was expecting relief with injection
