What Causes Severe Pain In Tail Bone?

I have a 1 year old and since giving birth I cannot sit without being in severe pain with my tailbone. It has also started hurting at night while sleeping. I do also have 2 herniated discs L4 L5. If I just touch my tailbone at the top it sends a severe pain through my body. What could it be?
