What Causes Severe Pain In The Vagina?

I had a vaginal hysterectomy 3and a half weeks ago. There is no more blood but Ihave a lot of pain just inside the vagina. Epsom salt and warm water soothe the pain. I cannot function unless I take Tylenol and I feel that soreness right at the same spot. Is there any cream I can try to insert since I only see my gynecologist in 3 weeks. I am in a lot of discomfort.
