What Causes Severe Pain In Throat While Swallowing Along With Fever?

I have a very painful throat whenever I swallow and when I visited my family doctor she said I have strep throat without any tests but by just taking a look with the light and recommended for me to have antibiotics. It is very painful since I just had the medication. I also have a fever and can't sleep at night because of the pain.
