What Causes Severe Pain In Thumb And Tingling Sensation In Fingers?

MY thumb has been causing me severe pain lately. It pops in the joints and there is a burning pain shooting up the inside of it. It has started swelling and my range of movement is becoming stiff and limited. too. I have had carpal tunnel surgery on that hand but have started to feel some tingling back in my fingers again. Could my thumb be related to this? Or is this something different?
