What Causes Severe Pain In Thumb Finger?

Hi . I have a finger pain it like over 1 yrs now went see the doctor I went & do xray he give pain tablet it red & very pain on the xtray. the don t see noting . I have to keep rub the finger all the time I got so fed up doing that can u please help get out the pain.It my right tumb.
