What Causes Severe Pain On The Left Side Of Head?

Hi, my name is Angela I m 45 and I ve been suffering from pain on the left side of my head for 4 years. It started as a little pin prick pain but over time it now covers the whole left side of my head. I didnt have any accident or trauma to my head. The pain never ever stops but there are periods of sharp spiking pain. it hurts to even touch or sleep on that side. I ve seen a headeache specialist, had an mri 3 years ago all the meds i ve tried have not helped. I dont know if I should get a new mri he said migraine issues dont show up on scans. the pain just keep covering more area i use to be able to ignore it and get on with life but its just getting so bad i m not sure what to do? Please help
