What Causes Severe Right Sided Mid Back Pain?

I have been seeing my doctor about back pain in the middle of my back on the right side. It really hurts most when I move, can be sharp and I lose my breath as the pain hits but when not moving it is dull. He had ultrasound completed for most organs and some xrays. I now just notices a rash in only that area.
