What Causes Severe Vertigo Post CPAP Machine Usage?

My husband has used his C-pap for 8 years now and never had a problem until now, he is having severe vertigo esp. @noc. It seems his machine all the sudden has too much force to it. His masks constantly leak, etc. If he is up and about during the day he is fine. I am a nurse, could I have hit a wrong button on the machine in cleaning it and turned up the pressure to high. Saw family doctor Monday, prescribed Nasacort spray and otc antivert, could this extra pressure be dangerous? His b/p, vital signs are all good, thank you in advance for your help
