What Causes Sharp Burning Pain Starting From Groin Area Till Knee?

Hello, I am a59 yr old female. About 7mo. ago, I started to get a sharp burning pain starting at the top of my inner thigh or groin area ending at the top of my knee. It is very excruciating. Certain body positions make it worse, but it is always there. What is it? Thank you.
