What Causes Sharp Intermittent Pain In The Lower Abdomen?

I have been getting this sharp pain below/side of my stomach. It feels like a needle is going through and and the pain lasted for at least five seconds, but yet i cant move because it hurts. Why is that? Those it have to do something with my ovaries? It has been going on about four days now.
