What Causes Sharp Pain Around The Areola?

I am having sharp pain around my areola when I touch it .... I can barely stand to wear a bra .... I do breast checks but not sure what to look for .... I am really scared ...... I am 37 yrs of age and I have no medical insurance to go to a docter ... does this sound dangerous
