What Causes Sharp Pain In Neck Radiating Towards Ears?

Hello could u tell me please whats wrong with me...I've had these symptoms for a few months on and off,I get a really sharp pain rising from bottom off my neck up to my thought speeding nearly to the back of my ears its really painful but lasts for about 4 mins it fades then but can still feel a little pain just under my throught ??
