What Causes Sharp Pain In Stomach,diarrhea And Constipation?

Hello,I have a sharp, stabbing like pain moving from the left of my stomach to the right. It appears right beneath the rib cage (sometimes concentrated in the belly button), and comes and goes a few times before disappearing for days/weeks. It is followed by both diarrhea and constipation (sometimes at the same time), and loss of appetite. Though I do feel slight pain near the appendix, I m sure that s a placebo affect from my fear of appendicitis. Should I wait (up to several months due to financial issues) to see a doctor, or should I go to urgent care and get immediate help?
