What Causes Sharp Pain In The Lower Left Side Of The Abdomen On Coughing?

I am having a somewhat sharp pain on my right side near my ovaries. When I clear my cough, sneeze, or clear my throat it hurts really bad. I don t know if this could be something I pulled or if it has to do with my ovaries. Some days I can t stand up straight. Sometimes I have to been over when I cough or anything like that because it s like a sharp pain. What do I need to do? Can I apply heat or and ice pack?
