What Causes Sharp Pain In Throat Upon Eating Solid Food?

Hi, I am having trouble swallowing at the LES. No trouble with liquids or soft food just regular food. Seems to be pushing it s way through like glass shards then pain is gone right after it passes through. Sometimes need fluid to flush it down. Taking to many Tums, acid wakes me up at night. I have today stopped eating late, coffee and chocolate to minimize triggers. No blood in saliva, stool nornal, appitite normal, no weight loss. Is this GERD , or am I in serious trouble ie: Barrett s or carcinoma? THank you for your help can t find a GP in New Westminster
