What Causes Shooting Pain In Wrist While Coughing?

When I cough really hard (currently coughing from a bad cold), my left wrist has a shooting/burning pain run through it. Right under my palm to the left side. It only happens when I cough too hard. Any thoughts on why it does this? It's happened for as long as I can remember.
