What Causes Short Menstrual Period?

Hi Doctor, my periods were late by 4 days... now it came but lasted only for one and half day ...even i am trying for baby for last 3 months...in this in 3 months my period lasted only for two days... could you please me to clear my confusion...what all is going on... plz...thanks
