What Causes Shortness Of Breath After An Injury To Left Side Of Rib?

17 days ago I tripped and fell on my left side. Heard a pop in the left rib area. No pain, no trouble with deep breaths, no fever. My left rib area is sore and tender when I lay on the left side. Bruised or cracked rib?. How long before I can golf without concern of reinjury to the rib area? Thank you
