What Causes Shortness Of Breath And Pain In Right Side Of Chest?

I have been having a shortness of breath that gets worse at night and dull to sharp pains on my right side of my chest. Any ideas if it might just be some of this congestion that seems to be going around. Besides the above description I am also at night when I lay down experiencing coughing spells.
