What Causes Skin Cuts Between The Vagina And Perineum?

I have just been to the GUM clinic, as I noticed what look like small paper cuts in the area between my vagina and perineum. I went to the clinic due to these tears in the same area in April. I was seriously concerned about Genital Herpes. Last time I went I was examined and I was told it was extremely unlikely it was Herpes, due to the physical symptoms, today I was examined again and the Dr said it was unlikely to be Herpes, but i insisted on a swab being taken to be sure. One thing I have noticed is that these two times I have been I have also been on my period. Which I normally use sanitary towels for. I have recently found (last 3 weeks) out I am allergic to Latex, which I now know these pads contain. Is it possible the tears could be from irritation from the pads, due to my latex allergy which is why I get these small tears when I am on my period? I do notice itching when I wear the pads. I have also had a really upset tummy the last few days so I have been going to the toilet a lot more regularly and obviously wiping the area with toilet roll a lot more frequently.
