What Causes Skin Peeling In Hands, Feet, Elbows And Knees?

My hands, feet, elbows, and knees have been peeling for about three weeks now. I have peeled away big pieces of skin without any type of pain. Last night I started peeling away part of my heel that feels hardened. Should I worry about this or will it go away naturally?
