What Causes Small Flesh Colored Bumps On Hands?

I have lots of small flesh coloured bumps on the back of my hands. They appeared from nowhere about six months ago. They can only be seen to their full extent when the light shines on them at which points you can see lots. They are slightly raised from the skin.
