What Causes Smell Of Blood In The Nose With Headaches?

I have been taking TRI SPRINTEC (birth control pill) since December of 2008 and since Saturday evening (August 21), I have been smelling blood in my nose with no nosebleed and have been having headaches (mainly on the left side) off and on everyday... Do you think that my birth control may have something to do with this???
