What Causes Sore Neck With A Twitch?

Hi there my 9 year old daughter has what i have been told is a tick were she nods her head but fast a couple of times our doctor said she will growout of it she often complains of a sore neck she can not control or tell when she will next have a tick. Pleasecan you help?
