What Causes Sore Spots On The Labia Majora?

Hi, I am 26 years old. I've noticed that after my period, I get this canker like sore on my labia. It remains there for about a week, and it reappears every 2 months or so right after my period. It is very sore and it itches. Do you have any idea what this could be?
