What Causes Sore Spots On Upper Thigh?

Hi, I have large spots on my upper thighs going up to my armpits. I have had them for over 6 months now and they look very similar to chicken pox. Some grow quite big and become sore, especially around the groin area and bottom, can anyone help? Thanks
