What Causes Sore Throat And Lump Inside Throat?

Hi, im a 19 year old college student who has never smoked or drank anything. I have had a sore throat for 3 days and i recently examined myslef this morning. I have a lump the same color as my throat and some pus like pockets with it. the pus is located on the right side or my throat. It is difficult to swalllow and it feels as though i have a pop corn kernal stuck in my mouth.. please help
