What Causes Sore Throat And Salty Taste In Mouth?

Hi I ve had a sore throat for about 6 weeks and have recently completed a 7 day course of antibiotics .My throat improved slightly during taking the tablets but it has not cleared up and is getting worse again. I have now had a salty taste in my mouth for the past 3 days as well. What do you think this could be?
