What Causes Sore Throat And Sudden Occurrence Of Headache?

what would cause a very sudden sore throat? I was perfectly fine, then randomly I had pain in my throat (left side) and a sudden splitting headache. the headache dissipated within minutes, but the throat pain remained, along with this weird inability to tilt my head backwards without it feeling like something in my throat is pulling (painfully). Do you know of anything that sounds like this?
