What Causes Sore Throat And Swallowing Difficulty?

i have had a sore throat with difficulty swallowing for 2 weeks. the pain is now getting worse. ive been taking paracetamol and ibuprofen reguarly which isnt helping with the pain but is effective in controlling my temperature. i had a tonsillectomy 7 years ago.
