What Causes Sore Throat, Blocked Nasal Passages And Lump In Throat?

I am experiencing a sudden bad sore throat, nasal passages feel blocked and worst problem is my throat feels like it is closing - like a huge lump in there. Went to bed and find it difficult to stay lying down as I feel so blocked. Sore throat came on over the evening prior to bed.
