What Causes Sore Throat With Difficulty In Speech After Tonsils Surgery?

I had my tonsils and adenoids taken out almost 4 months ago and for the past month I ve had a problem with my throat feeling sore and my voice. I went to my family doctor who gave me and antibiotic and a steroid. My throat feels better, but I still can t talk right. Is there any way I can get my voice back to normal without more medication or do I have to go back to the doctor?
