What Causes Sore Throat With Difficulty In Swallowing?

My Aunt is feeling bad, she came home from work this evening saying her Throat is hurting, sore, especially when she swallows. She is also having diarrhea ,symptoms, also running low grade fever, can you please help us to get some possible answers.
