What Causes Sore Throat With Persistent Temperature?

Hello Doc, I am having a sore throat from almost one week. other than that attacks of cough, very sticky and black colored sputum, and almost 100-103 0F temperature. I am taking medication but some time it seems i am well now and after an hour or 2 again sudden temperature. what actually it is? Is it Malaria? Do I need a blood test?
