What Causes Soreness Along With Swelling In Throat?

I had a sore throat hurt like I had a lump making it hard to swollow,I took BROMFED M D and for two days flu symptoms,then 3rd day my throat swole twice its size, 5th day went down a bit 3more days throat swelling normal but throat and congestion still present. It is soar at bottom of throat still hurts to swollow a bit no fever no aches just throat
