What Causes Soreness And Pain In Laryngeal Prominence?

Hello my adams apple is sore to the touch as well as when I look straight up. First my neck muscles were sore where they attach to the collar bone and it went away now my adams apple hurts. I did encounter allot of dust a day ago when cleaning out leaves in my back yard. It took me all day. The extent of the dust was major, watery eyes and such. I was wonderi.g if this was the cause of it. No sore throat or anything just tenderness on adams apple. I am a smoker for five years and currently trying to quit by weaning my self down. About 6-10 cigs a day from a pack a day. Now im down to just 4-6 a day. Dont want the big C.
