What Causes Soreness In Throat Along With Lumps Near The Tonsils?

Hi my husband has had a sore throat since November more at the base of throat, with 3 little right lumps more near the tonsils. The pain in the lower part of the throat can be bad and has trouble swallowing. He s had 2 courses of anti-biopics and noting has changed. Gp keeps saying super viral bug. He had a blood test last week and got result yesterday, low calcium levels. Today we have noticed his nails are hard and flat no longer have the normal natural curve. He is also very tired. He has no underly other health problems. HE is 42 no family history of any medical conditions, accept our son who has a rare cardiac condition.
