What Causes Sores On Tongue?

Both my husband and i had very sore tongues all of a sudden. After a few days his went away as did mine but now all my gums are red, swollen, and all my teeth are throbbing. Does remind me of the pain of having wisdom teeth pulled. I looked up oral thrush but that's not it. I've been dealing with this for almost two weeks. This ache and driving me nuts and it hurts to bite down on anything. What is this and how do you get it to go???
