What Causes Spasm Like Headache?

I constantly have spasm like head aches that makes my head feel like someone is squeezing it tightly, i spoke to my doctor about it he said it is migraine, but i am not having any of the migraine type symptoms and the medication do not stop the spasm like pain. what else could be going on with my head?
