What Causes Speech Disorder In An Elderly?

I just left my mother in law s house. She is 91, but body and mind of much younger. Very active. As we carried on a conversation, her words started getting mixed up, like she was saying them backwards. She didn t seem to notice. She also started having trouble coming up with the exact words she wanted to use. Again, she continued to communicate, seeming like nothing was going on.
